How not to square a board, part I

"Mistakes: It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others."

This step is easy. Just assume that the boards you bought from the lumber store are square enough.

This has been episode I in the series, “How not to build your own toolbox.” Stay tuned for further episodes such as “How not to measure and mark your dimensions.” We’ll come back to “How not to square a board” later for part II, in which I discover that you do need to do that, but still do it wrong.

I plan on this becoming a regular feature of the site. I’m not sure what I want to call it yet. Something like “How Stuff Doesn’t Work” or “Anti-instructables dot com.” I will most likely need guest posts. Anyone in?
